| MARA is a mind-bending, high-octane dance, music and multimedia production created by the dynamic brother-sister duo Aditya Prakash and Mythili Prakash. Blending poetry with dance, the production was first staged at the Ford Amphitheatre New York. The diabolical, devious character, Mara from the Buddhist lore, is brought to life in a visually entrancing exploration of the human mind and all its intricacies. The Singapore Premiere will showcase stunning synchrony of traditional and contemporary movements by Mythili and her group of classical Indian dancers from US, India and Apsaras Arts, Singapore accompanied by the Live Orchestra by Aditya Prakash Ensemble. MARA explores the journey of the individual (Jeeva), as she negotiates the dangerous, dazzling maze that is the human mind (Mara). Mara, the diabolical, devious character who infamously attempted to entice Buddha, continues to distract humans from discovering what lies beyond worldly pleasures and the pursuit of true inner freedom. Can Jeeva break free from the chains that bind her to this world? MARA is about life, perception, transformation, and self-discovery.
